Football: Manchester united and Mourinho parts company

English club, Manchester United, and her head coach, José Mourinho, have parted company, according to a statement by the club.

"The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future,” the statement form the club says.

A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager, company adds.

United’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at the weekend means they have 26 points after 17 Premier League games, their worst tally at that stage since the 1990-91 season.
